Back in the day there were only two real options for an Internet browser. Nowadays, there are a handful of choices.
All Internet browsers work generally the same but some offer better features and security settings than others. Outdated browsers leave you with security holes and don’t display some websites correctly. To protect yourself and be able to experience modern websites as they were designed we recommend keeping your web browser, whichever one you choose, always up to date.

Internet Explorer/Edge
Internet Explorer is one of the oldest browsers around. It won the browser war with Netscape Navigator and is bundled with Windows-based computers. With the release of Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer is quickly becoming obsolete.
FireFox
People like choice. FireFox came about because people wanted a browser that worked the way they wanted it to. FireFox was one of the first browsers to support tabbed windows and offer addons.
Google Chrome
The new kid on the block, Google Chrome, has jumped into the most popular browser in a relatively short amount of time. It loads fast, connects to your Google account for backing up your settings and bookmarks, and offers the ability to install a huge variety of addons.
Safari
Safari is Apple’s flagship Internet browser. It’s a great modern browser offering speed and backups to the cloud with your Apple account.

How Do I Choose a Web Browser?
Being a web developer, I use all of the web browsers above so that I can test not only how well websites perform but how they look. Along with testing in web browsers I also test on various devices (desktop PC’s, tablets, smartphones)… but that’s a story for another time.
At the time of writing this I can confidently recommend using Google Chrome as your primary web browser. You’ll love its flexibility and be amazed at its overall speed compared to other web browsers.
